Unfortunately it is not possible for a user to see how much memory overhead an extension contributes to a web page, without running a benchmark like the one here.
Using [Acid Test 3](http://acid3.acidtests.org/), a rather simple web page, with embedded `iframes`. Web page was opened in a new tab for each extension (important), after a browser restart.
